I think if you're in a situation where religion is a big part of the person's life you want to come out to, whether it's a family member or friend then you probably shouldn't because they may react badly to it. However, if it isn't, try watching something; like Glee or Pretty Little Liars (I say those shows because they have homosexual characters in it). I know when I was on Tumblr and I reblogged something about Brittany and Santana from Glee, my step mom was there and asked me if they were together and I said they were and she goes what are they teaching kids these days?

I'm use to this by her and I could careless about what she thinks. She knows I'm gay, however her and my dad don't talk about it and they certainly don't believe it. But basically I say watch a show like that with say your parents because at least if they ask you you can see how they'll react to it and if they say something negative or positive then you'll know if coming out is the right thing.

You'll figure it out and you'll know the right time. Sometimes coming out to people and them not being accepting is a sucky situation, but hiding it overtime can be far worse.

When I was a little bugger, wee weee back in the newly lesbian days, I was convinced that the world hated me and I was going to die and be a lonely, unloved, rejected hermit because I was gay and everyone hated me.

And then one day I started going on Tumblr and reblogging everything lesbian, and watching The L word and I realized I was full of myself and i needed to get over my boo-hoo my life sucks attitude. And now things are great. Everyone I've told so far has been extremely accepting.

I guess the moral to the story is, you need to be completely comfortable with yourself so that you don't need to worry if some dude in your math class has an issue with you. There's no time when you have to "be gay" you can come out whenever you want. If you actually think your parents or someone important is going to disown you or something crazy, you need to hold off telling them until you are safe emotionally, physically and financially.

I was able to come out on RPG/sim games first, which was easier because it's (somewhat) anonymous, and you get to play open lesbian for a bit to get your koo-koos out. If you don't play some weird RPG, seriously make a tumblr account. Make one anyway. You can type in big letters how you are a lesbian and express yourself that way. Then search Lesbian, LBGTQ or anything and you'll be just fine. If you need someone to talk to, feel free to send me a message. :)
