I'm new to this forum and it's such a relief finding people going through the same thing as I am. I'm 13, and I just recently came out as a lesbian to my very supportive mother, father, and 11 year old brother.
I'm homeschooled and my best friend was online, and we just recently "broke up". It's been really rough on me, and I'm having trouble making new friends. I have social anxiety so I'm too shy to say hi to people I admire, but I hate being lonely.. Any advice?
Just stay positive. When I was younger I was super shy too. It does take time, but you will slowly overcome the shyness. Just stay positive and a friend will come around. Good luck with everything. And when you do find a friend, if they are not accepting of who you are they are not true friends. Don't make the mistake I've made. There are other people that would love to be your friend and will except you for who you are.
