yes. It is worth it, because even though the rest seems like a nightmare. The feeling of relief in the end is all worth it.

Yeah its worth it - I didn't have any problems with my immediate family but the extended took it a little badly (okay major understatement there!!)... but I would never take it back, yes it was definitely worth it.

When you can't be yourself you are in pain, you may not know it but you are. You wouldn't have asked if you weren't. Being yourself is worth the pain...hiding who you are isn't...The pain is only temporary when you're you..nothing else matters.

Thanks for the help and advice ya'll. I really want to at least tell my mom, but I am so scared, I dont want to loose everyone close to me. And I do not have many people that would understand, I am going to try though.
And should I try hinting before I just come out, cause just dropping it all at once would be, quit shocking I imagine.

Sure, I don't see why not. Theres no hard and fast rule about how you should do it. Maybe you could just start a dialogue like 'what do you think about...' you can suss out what their reaction would be, and ppl usually pick up on the hints anyway before you launch right into it - good luck with whichever way you choose to do it!

Coming out was probable tone of the most important thing I've done, at least for myslef. I became so much more confident in who I was. Even though there are going to be homophobes and people who arn't going to understand, you owe it to yourself to be who you are and whoever that is there's no shame in that. So I say go for it, get out there and be proud!!

YES!!completely!!im still slowly coming out..just yesterday i came out to my mom....(kinda suxed RELY badly yet none her snide comments bothered me one bit (especially since almost all the school knows im a lesbian since i've been more "out" about it! (plus i have some friends for back up support...make sure u get those few friends u can RELY trust, tell them, and the ones that stick with you will kinda be ur small support group so when u come out u know u'll have some buddies behind u!)...i feel more braver..more confident in who i am...prouder and glad that i can actually stand up for myself and be out there!!It's hard and no one said it's gonna be easy...(name calling...bullying...dirty looks everyday...not everybodys gonna accept you which im sure u know!) but i think in the long run it can become one of the greatest things you've overcome in ur life!!!GOOD LUCK!! :)

That's a tough one to answer and only you will know when your ready. I am sure it's tough for you as a mormon. I had a good friend who was also a mormon and came out and had a hard time with the church and he is not close to his family anymore as they won't accept him. But he does have his friends and they are his "new family". This is not to say that this will happen to you, but anything is possible. Religon seems to bring out the worst in people when it comes to this, I have another friend who is Muslim and doesn't have a great supportive family. WE all have our own struggles, it's part of life. :)
