Well if your considering telling your mom, I think the first thing you can do is establish trust. Do you completely trust your mom to be accepting? Then do you trust her to keep your secret.
It might be good to consider who of your friends you trust the most as well. And see if you think you could share with any of them, its always good to bounce ideas off someone :)

I thought my mom would spill the beans too, but it turns out she's kinda disbelieving/in denial so she certainly doesn't want to tell her friends. And we're talking about a gossip freak..
I agree with Eric, maybe start with friends and work your way to family. Maybe test everyone out to see how accepting they might be too. You can try bringing up famous gays and lesbians or just general topics too and see how they take them before you come out. Just to see how accepting they might me.

Something similar happened to me. my mom found my computer and opened it to a website i was on, then confronted me about it. I was nervous, but i told her the truth. This is what happened to me. She started to ask these questions i wouldn't answer, then she got all mad and we havn't really had much of a conversation in a few weeks. If you are going to come out to her keep in mind this is what happened to me. who knows tho, you might be luckier than me.

once you come out there is no going back if your happy keeping it a secret just keep it a secret i have decided im not gona tel my mum till im 16 so if my family rejects me i can just move out but remember people on here can only give you advise do what you whant to do but if you dont know what to do dont do anythink atall.

ok well my mom likes to gossip a lot and i dont trust her at all and i JUST told her this year and i know she wouldnt care.... and yes gotta love those questions. but thing is she wants to point out every gay and lesbian on tv like ellen digenerits (dunno how to spell her name) which gets annoying, THEN when im driving (im 18 and got a permit ha....haha...ha.. neway) when i drive she always brings up that topic like she doesnt have nething better to do. so i drive like a nut when i know im save and no police around and making sure theres very little traffic so i dont cause accidents and what not (im just trying to give her whip lash and freak her out.) but with in my family... they all sorta new... EVEN when i didnt even know myself or even when i didnt even start thinking about it myself @_@

newayi told her to not tell my family cuz it was MY personal buisness. and no one needs to know nthing about me neway (i have a broken not all in eachothers faces) so rather my family is more like acquaintance's to me... my mom n cousin know and thats all. how you handle it... well every one does it differently. i mean you STILL you.... why act differently then what you already do? being gblt doesnt define who you are. its what you do and how you live. not exactly love interests.

u might just feel more free once you open up tho.. i did. a lot of people that i was close to iv told and they have (very luckly) accepted who i am... they accepted ME for ME. and thats what most ppl should do even tho a lot of people dont.

if you wanna tell your mom but not your entire family then make it clear it is your buisness and she has no right to tell neone (but then again idk how old you are....and ~some~ parents say it is their buisness.... not to scare you tho... my mom always said that... but thats probably why i waited till i was 18 to tell her)
