My brother recently came out to our parents. They are very conservative christians and were pretty devastated at first. After they came to realize how hiding his sexuality affected him, they were much more compassionate and understanding. I do not know your parents but I do have many homosexual friends (I know it's not the same but they come out too) who had to come out to their parents as well. About half the time, they already have suspicions or know and are just waiting for you to say something. I'm sure they will love you no matter what

I agree. I am a mom of 3. My 15 year old is pan. I wouldn't be surprised to hear the words "I'm trans" come out of her mouth.

I encourage you to be honest with them. Do they have any suspicion at all? Have you come out as queer? Do you dress like your identifying self?

I came out as a lesbian about 5 months ago, but then my girlfriend and I broke up and I could finally be myself. They were okay with me being a lesbian, but now that I've come out to them as trans, they think I'm mentally ill.
