if you have a significant other, do you parents know?
i don't have a girlfriend. i'm kind of dating this chick right now, but no way in hell i'm gonna tell my parents. they know that i'm gay but they found out via word of mouth. pretty fucked up though because i planned on telling them myself but apparently people have big mouths. i was also in a documentary so they probably found out through that, so i guess it's myself to blame.
if your parents don't know, what's stopping you?
my reasons are cultural. they weren't born in the u.s.. my dad is a strict catholic and is very homophobic. but i'm sure if he found out about me, he wouldn't disown me. the relationship with my both parents aren't close either, so it'd be awkward telling them in the first place.

MMM....thats always tough. I told my parents probably in the worst way possible. I brought my gf home. Then at the end of the dinner, we kissed goodnight. That totally freaked them out! So however they found out, it's probably better than me!

My parents know I have a girlfriend, they don't however know she's my fiancee. They know and my dad ignores it and finds the right time when I'm down to dive in and tells me how I don't know Emily and what she's doing and I really shouldn't trust her as much as I do. and then my mom "supports" me but then turns around and does the opposite. I told my mom about Emily after our first fight and then my mom told my dad and the rest of the family. only one family member knows Emily is my fiancee and that's my sister and she's ignoring it. My siblings are the only ones that don't see Emily and I as any different then them and their S.O.

My parents don't know. I just came out like a month ago and I had to tell a lot of close friends and although it sounds weird, I kinda just got sick of having to tell people. As of right now its a really confusing time and I don't want to have to battle with them when I'm going to college in three months. Plus I want to have a good summer with my girlfriend and it might be awkward because my mom knows my girlfriend very well.

My parents don't know. They're homophobic...just today in the car like an hour ago my mother said how all lesbians are mean bitches. I just sat there like.. O.O ..they play like it's okay then flip and say how wrong it is. Scratch that...it is okay for my sister to be gay (they think she is...though she isn't) but it is wrong for me.
