Alright, so here's the deal. I'm, obviously, christian, but more importantly I have a good relationship with God. My parents do also, and we hold the bible as truth. So here I am, in love with my best friend and we were going out for a while in secret. I talked to her (the girl I love) after two or three months and she agreed reluctantly to let me tell my mom (i didn't like the secrets and how i had to pretend...i thought she deserved to know). So I told my mom, and because they said it was against the bible and God that they were seperating us because it was just 'too hard to go back to friendship after you've had feelings like that for someone'. Back then I didn't even know what the bible said about homosexuality to be honest. I'd prayed about it and really felt like God was taking care of us and that he would honor our relationship... so when all this happened, I was a bit confused. I saw those verses, and they conflicted with what I felt in my heart and the feeling's that I had had from God. Me and her (even tho we probably shouldnt have) continued to secretly talk and for a while we were broken up. Then she convinced me to give her some time with me first, and I just hated being broken up with her so much I caved. I love her, I didn't know what to do. But while we were going out again, the religious part came up and we decided to split again because we didn't know if it was right...that was really really hard. i told her we couldnt b together again unless we knew it was alright with God, because I wouldn't mentally be able to handle another break up (and neither could she). I'm rambling on and on...
ANYWAYS! Sooooo, I took another look at the scriptures on my own time. I dug a little deeper, looked into the beliefs of that time period, studied the origional words (in the different language), I read a couple more books of the bible and I read up on 60 pages of articles from people who had gone to siminary and studied it even more in depth. I prayed for God to lead me and show me what was true and to give me discernment and understanding of what I was reading. I prayed for him to show me so that I would have no doubt... and now, I have no doubt. This is truely ok. Love is inspired by God, it's written all over the bible! But now's the other really hard part...how do I go to my parents and say, "Hey, you missinterpretted the bible and took me away from the love of my life...Soooo...give her back?" I don't know how to do this!!! I don't know what to say, what verses to show them, how to bring it up...they think i've moved on and 'accepted that it's wrong', when actually I've realized it's right. I need your help. Help from people who have studied the bible also and can help me form my responses to their obvious questions. I'm lost here, I'm terrified. If they say no again, that I'm wrong and they don't believe me, they could NEVER let me see her (for fear of me loving her more) while I live with them and I can't stand that... I need your help. Please help me. Solid verses and statements would be great...even after looking through all that, I would still really appreciate the input. Thank you.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

I've been in the same place for myself for a long time. Once I get my paper written I can show it to you if you want. Maybe it will help, I'm hoping it will for me. Just stay strong, I'll pray for you. I just keep saying to myself, He made me this way, so it can't be wrong.

Also I want you to know that my church is a virtual place where you and your girlfriend could meet using anonymity. We are a queer affirming completely Bible based Christian church in Kenmore, Washington. We podcast live on Sundays at 10:30am and you can sign in for free at http://www.ustream.tv/user/Livingwater and worship God with your girlfriend or by yourself. Also, if you poke around our church's own website you'll see we have a lot of other churches that we partner with who believe as you are coming to that being Gay and Christian is fine. My pastors are both dykes and who ride motorcycles and one plays the guitar for our worship service. She just recorded 2 different worship CDs for Christians and she's totally a lesbian, ask her wife, our pastor. lol
We've been where you are as several of us were raised in Christian homes before coming out. We had the same struggle as you. You don't have to suffer alone. I'm a 43 year old single Christian Dyke mother to a 4 year old daughter. When she was little she didn't understand the difference between the words Christian and lesbian because all the first hundred or so Christians she met in her life were dykes (plus a few gay men).
This site goes through all the verses in the Bible that people like to use against Homosexuality and breaks them down word by word using the original Hebrew and Greek texts and the history and culture of the time. It explains everything really well, and this could be helpful in showing your parents what you mean...if you even still need it, that is. Considering how long ago this was posted, you may not need it anymore. Still an interesting site to look at that though.
God would have created us differently if LGBT was wrong. It is hard to change hard liners who do not feel what we feel. You may keep secrets from some humans, but God will always share your secrets. Have a clean heart and you are just as worthy as any hetero.
We as gay do not need to be saying I am LGBT. The hetero people do not do this, unless they are questioning their sexuality.
Do not make the mistake I made of coming out late due to these fears. I am probably the only gay my age without a partners, because my gay friends came out in their late teens and found partners. They have happy lives and go to Church.
I stopped a year going to Church (Catholic), because I thought I was not welcome. But after reading what Pope Francis said, no human can tell me I am not worthy of God's love and visiting his temple.
Stand your ground, tell who really needs to know, and what we say about hiding the truth that only affects you is just an excuse based on fear.
God is love. God is fair. God create perfect beings, and guess what, you and all of us LGBT were created perfect to the image of God.
David, who beat Goliat, had a love affair with Prince Jonathan, son of King Salomon. When King Salomon and Prince Jonathan died at war, David became King and wedded the widow of a fallen knight. This is just to illustrate that life is not perfect and is captured in the Bible. I cannot remember in what part of the scripture. Sorry.
When I was a teenager I was studying to become a priest. My Dad took away the books and put me into a golf club. I knew then, asexually since 12, that I was gay. I was seeking a hiding place. Terrible decision of mine, but here I am. I am not desperate, regardless of my lost time. I do regret, but nothing OI can do to change the past. I just focus on my reality now. Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Now that I am fully out of the closet, regardless of my parents approval, I got to make the best of it.
When you come out of the closet, and it does not have to be now, is an act to INFORM people close to you. NEVER to ask for PERMISSION.
If you depend economically from your parents, do not say anything until you feel the moment is right. FEAR is your greatest ENEMY. Remember, God is love, acceptance and fairness.
If you wish to talk more, please send me messages. I will give you my best advice.
Good luck and big hug.
Your parents heart, too, will unlikely change. I would love to tell you a fairy tell and say that your parents will come around, but they probably will not.
I think for you, you need to accept this. Accept yourself, and accept your parents. It is the way it is,I can't really explain this. In time they may come around and accept that this is you.
The likely best route for yourself is to work hard and move out of your parents home. This is great motivation for you to begin a new life.
Good luck, I have faith in you!
