Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Zantac

If you are trying out Zantac to see how it does, when is it best to take it in the morning? Once you wake up or after you have had breakfast?

Right now I have been taking it at 9am (usually after I have had some food in my stomach) and then again at 9pm before I go to bed.

The last couple morning my stomach has felt a bit crampy like in the morning so I am not sure if its the Zantac talking back to me and not liking that time or second dosage.

I take my zantac before my breakfast and before my evening meal. My stomach has felt a bit gurgley today. I think it's telling me to eat as I have not been eating well due to nausea.

I read something on the internet that it does not really matter if it is before or after you eat....just more about sticking to the same time.

Thanks terri002. I took my zantac before I had my oatmeal with honey in it. How is your gastritis been? You had it long? I am coming up on 2 years.

Mine started in 2012 and I had it for about one and a half years. It seemed to go away but has now returned and I have it for the last couple of months. The biggest thing for me is the nausea that is almost constant. What symptoms do you have?

I guess you could say I get some mild nausea and mild cramping/spasm type feeling in my stomach. I have had two endoscopy over the last year. Last one was in September
and still showed mild gastritis. I also had a colonoscopy because I had weight lose and blood in my BM and on the paper but that was from a hemorrhoid that I still am battling and that sucks.
