Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
You need to realize this takes a while and patience is something you will have to learn with it. Three weeks is nothing for this.
I hate to sound blunt, but crawling in your head will make this problem into the size of Mount Olympus.
It's been over 3 months for me and only recently has my stomach pain become more manageable because of finding what works and making a food diary. I still have bad days it now I have good days as well. Eventually the good will out number the bad.
I know you mentioned you have a family but make time for yourself if/when you have a chance. I went for walks in the beginning and now I am running.
I'm 33 and and your height and weight (I'm a woman, too). We're young, we have that on our side. This illness is like no other I had in the past, it takes time to heal - months. But you WILL feel better. When you do make sure you keep your bland diet for a few more weeks and gradually and carefully try new foods. It sucks. I'm sort of resigned and not letting it ruin my life at this point (easier said than done). You'll also need a plan for how to wean off PPIs because the rebound acid could get gastritis to flare up again. Catch-22.
Stress is your biggest opponent right now. You don't have anything life threatening, there is no reason for such worry.
Treeofstars - sounds like you're feeling much better. Kind of a plateau stage - not terrible, not great yet. Keeping fingers crossed for you.
Also consider taking Chlorella daily. It washes out heavy metals and other unwanted elements from the body, and was used in treatment of people with radiation poisoning. The only side-effect is cosmetic - green poop due to chlorophil element.
You're currently dealing with denial of the fact that your life has changed, and it will affect your daily routines directly. However, if you flow with WHAT IS, don't do rash things, take PepZin GI, you will be improving, and eventually your restrictions will start falling away.
Some may remain for a very long time, but they will not be significant enough to alter how you live. You'll always be able to find something you can eat in company of people.
I used a lot of Abraham-Hicks meditation app on my Android phone, and played those affirmation clips about physical health on it, while trying to fall asleep. Mood control is important.
Also consider Eckhart Tolle's "Power Of Now". We're weak when our mind is constantly spread between past and future. Try to be in the Now, find something you enjoy Now, and then you will notice increased attention on your breathing. Stay there. Be Present, and give yourself some room. Then you will feel your power come back.
