Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I think you said it, as you get better, you have no desire to be on here. I have gotten better but no means healed. I actually got a lot of burning in my stomach last night due to an emergency. It has only been in the past hour has it calmed down.
I can tell you are very stressed but this is unfortunately something you will have to ride out and learn patience with. It sucks, I know all too well, but it does get better. I am so much better than I was in August and September. It just takes a while. You need to distract yourself. Read, watch a comedic movie because it sounds like you are nerve-wracked like I was.
You ok, treeofstars?
I have been getting better, sticking to my diet and take the Pepzin GI and some other herbs and enzymes.
But, it's also important to stay busy. When I have friends over, I feel so much better than if I'm alone in the house.
I'm still trying everything to gain at least a pound. Lately, for dessert I make a baked apple and pour some pure maple syrup on it. it's delicious. With Christmas coming, I use to bake all these cookies, I would love to have one. I've tried a few recipes with gluten free flours. No good.
I am glad you are on the mend :)
I am sorry you are going through this and feeling miserable.
I don't know how long you have been suffering already, but it seems it does take a while to go away. Sanity is really hard to keep I think for all of us. Some of us take meds... It can be really hard to cope with this, but stay on your meds and stick with a bland diet. No coffee, alcohol, etc... Until you heal. There are some great people in this board.
