Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
This new site I'm still adjusting to. There use to be a section where you could look up the various meds and techniques everyone was trying then it would give you the percentage of how successful each one was. I can't find this on this new site. So my question on gastrititis is what medications have you tried or diets and how successful have they been. I can't take blockers like zantac or pepcid and can't take PPI's like protonix or prilosec. I'm keeping a food journal and thinking of trying the scd diet. Also looking to find just an acid reducer that might be better than tums or mylanta that I can try. Need suggestions. My DR is not helping me at all since all he has to offer is the blockers or PPI's. He has me just trying things on my own.
