Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I don't find that bland helps me. In fact, adding some spice seems to help me digest. But avoiding specific foods does. Any grain but rice (in small amounts) gets me to burning for days. Fruit is a big problem for me, even in yogurt. Tomato products as well, not a surprise since it is a fruit genetically. Gassy veggies are out, beans as well.
Therefore my diet is essentially meats, egg whites on occasion, cheese and yogurt, cooked veggies and butter lettuce (not fiberous) for a small salad each day. I have rice about 3 times a week at most. I eat gluten free, and I have the added annoyance of having had bariatric surgery and must eat my meats moist...so I have alfredo sauce on my chicken and fish and stew all my beef.
I also use digestive enzymes every single time I eat. Those have been the biggest help of all. I like "quick digest"....
