Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I couldn’t have strawberries though, those and raspberries are no good for me.
Lunch was baked beetroot and sweet potato, quinoa, fresh basil and a little feta.
Breakfast was porridge (oatmeal) made with water and a little lactose free milk. Served with banana and maple syrup . I usually eat the same thing 2 hours before bedtime too.
Recipe: Abut half stick butter, 3 cups rolled oats, 1 cup applesauce (unsweetened), 2 TSP baking powder, 3/4 TSP salt, 3/4 cup water, and 2 eggs.
I melt the butter in a 8x8 glass dish in the oven at 350 degrees. Pull it out. Let it cool. Then I add it to all the other ingredients in the bowl. Put it back in the oven for 30 minutes.
I've been avoiding sugar. I've learned to enjoy oatmeal without sugar. Was adding cinnamon and vanilla, but now I'm concerned about those, too. Trying a new diet for 3 months. Looking forward to eating normal food again, and regular baked oatmeal with sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and raisins or craisins.

Since I'm avoiding sugar, I've been baking apples with coconut oil. Delicious! Frozen banana is really good, too.
Sugar, as you can tell, is my weakness. I'm a baker, in my spare time. I've also been avoiding soy, gluten, corn, dairy, citrus, tomatoes, garlic, onions, and most nightshades (added potatoes back in recently). It's a challenging diet but I hope it helps me to feel better. I've been suffering a long time and I think it's partly because I haven't stuck to a good diet for a long enough period of time. Will try to stick it out for three months. I'm almost done with Week 4.
I've tried omeprazole and pantoprazole. No success. Been taking ranitidine for two and half months now. Feeling a little better. Trying to be optimistic that I will overcome this. Hope we all do.
BTW, I am on a gastritis support group on Facebook if you are interested. Its a really great platform and is very active, I hope to see you there! https://www.facebook.com/groups/420027964703338/
I just had the worse episode of gastritis I ever had - thought I had gallstones. I have started juicing, just google juicing for gastritis. I found about 4 sites offering delicious recipes. I hate juicing, but I think this will help. thank you for all the recipes
I do almost the same diet as you guys but there's one thing most sufferers forget to do- reduce the amount of salt in your food.
I did that to almost zero salt and things have worked out well.
Plus for those who have not healed, you could try and check this out... it might be of help
