Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
The back issue I have had when my esophagus was pretty inflamed. I am thinking that could be it for you as well. The esophagus sits closely to the mid back area.
Too bad the osteopath didnt make the connection for you. Mine is fantastic better than a traditional doctor I find.
I also went to a chiro for my small HH/heartburn. I cant remember if you have a HH. I was skeptical for sure. After 2 months of treatments I noticed a pretty big difference in my heartburn. I had been dealing with it for a year and a half. I kept my diet the same etc to test it. I think the adjustments did change something in there.
With the dizziness etc.. As soon as I got way better at managing the diet, I had way less heartburn and reflux and I started to prop up at night as well. The dizzy thing went away pretty quick. I used to feel feverish and woozy as well. I was lucky I didnt have gastritis for very long. I nipped it in the bud quickly. So I was very strict with my diet in order to get rid of the gastritis. It took a month and I was not taking any meds for it at all. I ate only 3 to 5 foods every day and very small amounts of food. I do think gastritis causes the dizziness most often. I believe it has to do with nerve endings being effected.
This issue can get way better. Gastritis does take longer to heal. Heartburn and reflux only are easier to deal with.
It did take a ton of discipline for me to get to this good place.
There is hope!
I've dealt with gastritis symptoms in the past, back then I was told that I had IBS, and as you stated with modifying my diet I felt better in a couple weeks.
Unfortunately, I was treated for h. pylori with a medication called Pylera which wreaked havoc on by nervous and digestive system. Two months after taking the last pill I'm still getting over the side effects. I truly believe that the antibiotics made the gastritis worst which is why 4 month later I'm still dealing with the dizziness, brain fog (woozy head) and feeling off balanced.
What did your diet consist of during that month?
You are not the first person to say that here.
I wish smilelikeyoumeanit was still posting on this site. She is a pro on everything to do with H pylori and gastritis.
Is your H pylori gone now? I know that bacteria can be hard to get rid of and the antibiotic for it is pretty strong.
I am sure this will get better for you. It will take time.
All the symptoms you are talking about sound like gastritis/reflux to me. I have felt off balance as well and I think that is more stomach related.
The basic foods I ate were, oatmeal, spinach, banana, papaya, whole wheat bread, sweet potato and small amounts of chicken. That was it and I didnt have chicken until the third week.
H pylori does make this more of a challenge. If it is gone now you will find it may take 3 months for you to feel much closer to normal.
This takes time but I am sure you will get better!
I wish that I could eat oatmeal, because that use to be my go to food whenever my digestive system began to act up, but now it triggers migraines. Wish I could find something that would coat my stomach like oatmeal and help with the healing process.
Thanks for your encouraging words.
