Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
From what I know of DGL, you are supposed to take it 20 minutes before a meal. It stimulates the stomach to create additional mucus which protects the lining of the stomach. This is why when you take it, you have to wait some time before you should eat.
I used to take this everyday.. But I could never time it for right before a meal, so I would just take them whenever...... Whatever works for you....
The most important thing is that you really need to chew it up because the digestive juices in the mouth are necessary to activate it.
