Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Well I had a follow up appointment with my GI doctor yesterday. I have been dealing with what appears to be gastritis for over a year and half. My last endoscopy was in March 2014. Prior to this appointment I had a follow up blood work with my primary care due to some numbers from my physical at the beginning of the year. My EOS Test was high so my primary doctor wanted me to bring it to the attention of the GI. That test appears to show a possible allergic/allergy issue my body has started to experience. I am 43, white male, 165 pounds. He wants to do an endoscopy and biopsy esophageal, gastric, and duodenal areas. He referenced Eosinophilic. He also sent me to the lab for the blood test to see if it could be Celiac Disease.
My endoscopy if scheduled for September 28th. Prayers appreciated.

Anyone dealing with any of these conditions? Looking for freedom from these GI issues.

Sounds like you have a doctor that is wanting to get to the bottom of it. That is excellent. If you have an allergy it could be contributing to your symptoms. Good luck with the rest of your tests. Be sure to read up on the issues (try national institute of health as a starter) so that you can ask the right questions.

I am just hoping I dont have a gluten allergy....and whatever allergy they find it can be easily treatabled and correctable.

If your doctor ordered blood work for Celiac do you know if they are looking for the DNA markers for the disease. That is how I and both my sons were dxd. I inherited it turns out from my parents. Celiac is a really serious disease. It was my last diagnosis. If it had been the first I wouldn't have gotten the other 11-12 illness/autoimmune problems I have. The biopsy and other celiac tests are only 40% accurate. Celiac can cause around 200 hundred other illnesses or problems. Google Dr. Osborne. He has a video that explains everything. Celiac doesn't always cause intestinal problems at first.

I would do all the GI tests so you can really know what is going on with your insides. Hope you get the answers you need. Good luck.

Got my blood test results back today and I was negative for Celiac disease. Going on the 28th fo rmy endoscopy and biopsy. Based on bllood test from earlier when I had a physical check we are thinking I could have some allergic type thing going on. GI doctor is going to biopsy my esophgus, stomach and small intestine.

Not sure if its the Zantac now or what. But I my doctor said to take Zantac a few days ago and since then I just feel like my stomach is feeling the worse it has been for awhile. I had been on Omeprazole. Anyone else have issues like that with Zantac? Thinking about going back to the Omeprazole until my endoscopy/colonoscopy on the 28th.

Yes Zantac is much weaker than omeprazole. Go back on it rather than suffer, the only reason to be off PPIs is to allow testing for h pylori but they can still test for Eosinophils while on PPIs

Yes it does sound like you have a great doc who really want's to find the origin of your condition. I am also so glad, so many doc's just don't carry threw with thing's, I have a great doc like your's and i just love her. I never had allergies until i was older. Mine are outside and mold, get sick and eyes hurt etc. Don't know if that's what you mean by allergies, i was about that age when i got mine. I just wanted to comment on this, i also have Gastritis really bad, on a new med and have really been 80 percent better.I would be remiss if i tried to give you advice as i didn't really understand all your condition's and don't know about your med's and history. If you ever want to know what finally helped me med wise, just ask me.

READING STUFF ON EOSINOPHILS has me freaked out. My GI Doctor thinks I have some sort of allergic issue dunno my EOSINOPHILS level being high. Reading the stuff about eosinophils has me very scared. So scared of cancers and other deadly illness I may have now.
