Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
so enough about me ...what's your story? I live in Dallas, Texas. If you're comfortable sharing your location - if not, no worries.
Pretty basic bland, soft diet which is the usual: potatoes, canned veggies, white bread, crackers, dinner rolls, rice pudding or tapioca pudding, canned peaches or pears, applesauce, very lean hamburger, homemade soup made with organic 'real' broths, potatoes, carrots, canned peas, maybe some parsley or cilantro and a few other herbs and left over roast beef or chicken (or turkey). Scrambled eggs are good, and some avocado with grated mild cheese in a soft-shell taco.
I can handle a small amount of sweets, but I try to really watch that or I pay the next day! Same for any flavored crackers--one or two don't seem to hurt, but I really have to watch it.
I haven't considered coffee, but I don't think I'll go back to it, as for me, it's too much acid. A little chocolate I can handle, but not much--maybe a bite or two.
Hope this is helpful. I think it's slowly getting better, but when I get flares 'out of the blue,' it's hard to tell.
Thoughts are with you all now.
I love coconut milk, too. It's really good in pudding, also.
