Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
As for ulcers I don't have much to say because I was just diagnosed with gastritis but I imagine the treatment would be very similar perhaps more strict when it comes to diet and meds.I believe you should go for the scope asap and then you will see where you can go from there.I would also suggest to see a gastro for diagnosis but then switch to a naturopathc doctor when you already know whats up.They just seem to be better at managing gastro issues in my opinion.Hope it helps.Good luck!
He threw some ppi's at me and told me check up after 8 weeks. No scope or anything like that. Additionally his openings are few and far between. It was either get an appointment 3 weeks out as the next was would be 3 months away.
Luckily, my family doc didn't want to play around.
I can stand to lose a ton of weight, as long as I know it isn't something truly malicious doing it.
I've been using the PepsinGI and taking probiotics. Diet has been hit or miss. It amazes me what hurts and doesn't hurt my stomach.
Thanks for your input.
