You are not over emotional in any sense of the word! A doctor should not leave you hanging like that, wondering if it's something you still have to worry about, not explaining the medication he prescribed. That is just called a very bad bed side manner. I hope you get a better reaction from this doctor when you go in for the results. Please let us know, okay? Hugs GB

Hi I know. We wait ages to see a gastro then they do very little. Ive seen mine before and have been referred back but they don, know what to do for me. This gastritis is agony now and Im on Lansoprazole. I don,t think Zantac is very strong, its a H2 blocker and it works in a different way to a PPI to cut the acid. I had biopsies and no cause was found for my gastritis. Im at my wits end as to why my stomach is like this when I have not drank or smoked or took anti inflammatory drugs. Ive done nothing to cause this only had my gallbladder out. I hope you get some answers. Can you eat and drink ok? I struggle as it hurts so badly. Let me know if the Pepzin GI works. You may be able to tolerate Manuka honey too, I can,t.

Thanks for your replies, I was very disappointed in my doctor, but the truth is he wasn't all that helpful before. Most of what helped me in the past was this forum with all the experience others have had. Just seem to be having a harder time of it this time.

Poorlygirl, are you going to the doctor soon and will they do another endoscopy? Seems like you and me are in the same boat. I am so sad because I'm not living life like I should and I feel like I'm not there for my sixteen year old daughter or husband. I pretty much dread every day. The reglan can be prescribed for a couple reasons- one is to assist with nausea. Make sure the read the label, if you take it, and discuss concerns with your doctor or nursing staff (nurses, I find, can be a big help).

Keep going. You are doing well, even though you may not feel like it always (from your post). Tests, feeling bad and worry can all take a lot out of you.Try to remember that. Lastly, no you are not overreacting. You are in pain and all GI conditions are a beast to deal with.

I go to see the gastro on July 3 as I could not get in sooner. I have a bad flare up of pain yet again and it stops me sleeping. I am trying to eat bland and to coat with Sucralfate but have not been able to eat much. I got put on codeine which does not help me. I did have a day or two where it flared up then settled down. It is bad now though. Someone posted about the benefits of probiotics for it so I will give those a go. Also Slippery elm and have a look out for Pepzin GI. I know that I can get them on Amazon.
