Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
That said, I haven't experienced anything like this. I used to wake up on the verge of throwing up but never actually woke up having thrown up, especially on a consistent basis.
Do you sleep sitting up right/lying down/at an angle?
I sleep laying mostly flat. I've tried sleeping at an angle and it wrecks my neck. Ive had 2 cervical fusions on my neck.
Not sure what my next plan of attack is yet.
If you have issues with heartburn and gastritis you could have an HH but if you dont have an HH a chronically inflammed esophagus does not close up as well and that could lead to refluxing up while lying down and while upright.
The scope will tell you what is up. Make sure to gets that done.
It could also be anxiety induced. All the gastritis and reflux symptoms can be much worse with stress, anxiety and a mental health issue. Refluxing up even during the day is a common symptom with a weak esophagus or a hiatal hernia.
make sure you are pushy with the doctors and get to the bottom of it.
Please let us know how you are. I am sure all who have read this are concerned for you.
