HI.. I have been having episodes like you describe on and off for some time. I do not get the tooth pain, but Yes, acid reflux can cause problems in the whole mouth including your teeth, Some of my teeth have receding gums- more than I feel I should have at my age so I suspect from my reflux over time. I do not feel the reflux into my mouth is as severe as some folks, but it definately has gone up my essophagus often as I have been hoarse as well on occasion, but it's been awhile now like maybe a year and a half. More so
as of late I feel I have phlem or something in my throat and have little coughs also had episodes of swollen throat where It's hard to get my food down..which is totally reflux related..
I also have a Vitamin b12 deficiency and D according to a visit to an endocrinologist Getting older.. !@#$%^&!

I can't believe someone is having the same symptoms as myself. I couldn't figure out why my teeth hurt, why I keep coughing up clear phlegm, and have a small annoying cough that I've never had before. I would give anything to make a dental appointment but I have no insurance and I live month to month, spending any additional money on my best friend, Anny, my dog. That's another thing that has just started and that is mouth sores. I bought some mouth wash made just for that. I really need to get back into see Dr. S and have another endoscopy done to make sure my Barrett's hasn't resurfaced or my Gastritis hasn't gotten worse. I hope you get some answers soon. gramybear... it's been a long time. I'm beginning to think some of my throat stuff is allergies. The last couple days I'm coughing up that clear phlegm you are talking about. It really makes my throat scratchy and chokes me. It's very different from the reflux burning pain. I did find out that I had periodontal disease caused by dry mouth, caused by meds. So I got that taken care of. But I still get some awful burning in my throat, mouth, lips etc. But it's sporadic. How have you been?

I don't know about the teeth stuff.

For the throat stuff - hoarseness, coughing, phlegm etc... Have you read up about LPR - Laryngopharyngeal Reflux Disease?

littlemart, I have the exact same thing with my throat and voice - I am almost always hoarse, with an on-and-off sore throat. I think it's related to reflux.

It is reflux for sure.. they call that the silent type.

Your hiatal hernia makes you more prone to that issue. it tends to happen over night and then your throat is sore and mucousy all day. You need to use the sleep wedge. Did you get one? You do need to manage that issue and try and stop the refluxing.
