Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Your pain needs to be managed, period. You can't stop stressing until you get a break from the pain. Can't you find a doctor to prescribe an opiate pain med? Pain and stress management is the key to healing, period.
I'm prescribed opiates and medicinal marijuana and both help me tremendously. But I only take it when I'm flaring up and need the time to heal. Medicinal marijuana helps with my stress and anxiety. Opiates, helps tremendously with the pain and inflammation. Although, everyone is different.
I really think food plays a small role in gastritis. Whereas, stress and anxiety is the root of the problem. That somehow has to be controlled. And telling someone to just not stress, just isn't practical. Sometimes we need help in that area.
If at all possible, get prescribed something for the pain first, then speak with your daughter about medicine to control the anxiety and stress.
This is just my opinion and what has worked for me.
BTW, I'm scheduled to have ANOTHER abdominal surgery to remove the gargantuan fibroid. So, here we go again!
-gastritisbe gone - my pain was never that bad that I would need such strong meds. I'm reluctant to take anything really and agree that for me stress and anxiety are my greatest challenges to overcome.
I'm looking forward to my first therapy session on Thursday.
I want to have the tools to help myself and remain drug free if possible. I won't rule anything out but at this stage I think I can do it with good support in that area.
