Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
With the PPI it really started to help after about 1 to 2 weeks. After 6 weeks I was doing much much better.
I now take a Carafate at bedtime; that's all I take all day. Still drinking 2 cups of slippery elm tea every day, and other teas such as ginger root (good for inflammation) and chamomile, and lots of water. I also mix a little aloe gel AND aloe juice in a glass of water and have 2 of those every morning. However, note there is citric acid in the aloe juice and gel, so be forewarned it's not for everyone; but it does seem to help me.
Best of luck! :)
