Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

When the Dr. presses on my upper abdomen
My pain is a gnawing ache. Drinking slippery elm tea or chewing Extra sugarless bubble gum takes my pain away temporarily until the flare-up calms down. I took PPI's and Carafate for 4 years straight but stopped them because they did nothing for my kind of gastritis. Coating my stomach works much better for me. Most days I have 0/10 pain level if I avoid all the things above. The only thing I cheat on is the coffee. I drink several cups a day of weak, instant, low-acid arabica coffee with 4 TBS of powder creamer in it to cut the acidity.
The only weird blood test result I have had was my liver enzymes. They were WAY below the range- meaning I have the liver of a super hero:)
Have you ever had your gallbladder looked at?
One dr said gastritis would cause slight increase in lipase. Im trying my hardest to find (and hope for) something other than chronic pancreatiis. So far all my scans have been clear, have another upcoming one in a few wks
