Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I know it can be difficult. I was diagnosed Gastritis recently (two months ago). The morning pains and nausea is what gets me most. So far, I haven’t taken any medication other than Pepcid which has helped. I am trying to avoid other meds but may not have a choice if conditions worsen. The all day feeling of having to gag is bad for me. I am figuring out what foods trigger certain reaction so thats helping. Obviously spicy foods and I am noting fried foods (which I don’t eat much of already) as foods to avoid. I think everyone is different. Right now I am on a trial and error stage. I can only imagine how difficult it can be to go to urgent care and walk away with really no resolution.
