Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I'm so sick of taking Tums and Rolaids...Is there such as thing as an unflavored tablet? Perhaps something from Europe?
I am looking for calcium carbonate and magnesium tablets, no aluminum...tx in advance.
I was better and now I feel like crap, I should've listened to herrlehmann and not done the coffee... :(

Antacids like Tums are kind of counter-productive as they only create more acid about an hour after taking them.
If you can go back to your Doctor, ask him for Carafate suspension as this works great for me but alas, I think it is not healing me but rather just keeping the worst of the symptoms away. :/
I didn't know that about the rebound from Tums... :(
I also have Carafate, but in pill form...
sigh...
I wish this would go away.
