Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I do notice that my stomach is more sensitive after certain events. I am not sure why.. I don't get soreness, but just an sense of overall grossness to the touch... it varies from time to time.
I agree with you about the endoscopy. I think generally every one on this board has mild gastritis for the most part, but the doctors do not seem to think much of it.... like most people who get endos have that mild inflammation... or no inflammation at all. My GI said that about 30% of the endoscopies show nothing.
My nightmare started on August 2nd and I am was on Prilosec and Prevacid for last 12 weeks.I stopped taking medicine from last 2 weeks since they aren't helping much.
Yes, I feel the same in my stomach just feels raw and sore especially on movement like coughing, coming down from stairs and bending. My GI suspects it's nothing but she ordered CT scan for peace of mind.My GI also mentioned she sees mild gastritis mostly in every endoscopy.
Don't worry too much hang in there
man i can't believe what little medical work there is for this sickness. I mean it just seems ridiculous that we live in a world where there is a flu shot, pills for pain, medication for almost any other stomach illness...but this one is just uncharted territory.
maybe we ought to make the pharm companies aware of this and show them the uncharted waters here. those guys are always looking to make a buck!
today i was practicing some singing and man oh man my stomach
did NOT like that. i can't do anything i like anymore! and i look like a frail thin animal!
May even need a pelvic CT scan.
Just a quick question... when you touch your stomach is it sore? When you flex your abdominal muscles, does the soreness get less or stay the same?
I had all those tests like you too, my husband had heart attach, and he's in better health than I am, I've lost over 30 lbs. skin and bones.but I just have to stay positive and eat what I can.
