Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Sorry you have this same pain too, but It's nice not to be alone. Mine is constant, and it makes me emotional and tired. This bout with gastritis started at the end of January.
I stopped taking Lansoprazle and Carafate because after a while it will back-fire on me and cause more symptoms.
I need to call and make an appointment with my gastro doc, I got the medicine from my family doctor this last time. I feel like he will want to do another endoscopy since it has been three and a half years when I had last one.
How long do you have to wait to see your doctor? I hope you feel better soon too. Thanks for replying.
1) Use Zantac 150 instead of PPIs, it's safer. You may need to take it every 8 hours to achieve effectiveness.
How to find out if you need to lower your stomach acid? See if taking Zantac gives you partial relief and removes nausea, et al. If it does, try only taking it every 12 hours... but if in the middle of that interval you start experiencing burning in the stomach, you'll have to switch to every 8 hours.
2) Take digestive enzymes before eating anything. Stuff like Source Naturals brand, take 6 of them before food.
3) Pepzin GI. It is an actual healer of the stomach, used by prescription in Japan since mid-90s. You can get it from Amazon. USE IT.
Zantac lowers the damage the stomach does to itself. PepZin GI actually protects against further damage, repairs stomach lining, and prevents damage caused by eating various foods.
You may need to start with ingredients that contain Pepzin GI but have a stronger effect. Gastromend HP can help significantly at early stages, and Ulcetrol is weaker, and Pepzin GI itself can be used for regular maintenance later on.
I am speaking from experience. I don't want to jinx it, but I was in a very bad place with gastritis and ulcer a year ago. I lost 30lbs and could barely stomach oatmeal.
Now, through continuous use of Zantac+Pepzin+Enzymes, yesterday I was able to drink Heineken at a bar, followed by fish&chips.
Gastromend contains mastic gum, which can kill H. Pylori when taken on empty stomach (thus most effective in the morning).
It is recommended to wait for an hour at least after taking anything with mastic gum in it, then take probiotics before food, because mastic gum is a naturai localized antibiotic.
I'm not completely well because healing the stomach takes a long time. However I can eat most foods, which even include grapes.
Also, I'm not going to be completely well until i figure out a way to get off Zantac. Pharma always has side-effects, Zantac just happens to be a safer pharma than proton pump inhibitors.
So, I'm eating more carefully and will also pick up some aloe vera gel, which in the past, has really helped me, personally. I just take a little bit in some water and have to watch it, as it can be rather laxative.
For whatever reason, I think it's helped me more than anything else, though diet is key, too.
It may not be for everyone though, so be sure to check with your GI doc before you take it (or obviously, anything new).
Hope things are better with everyone soon.
