Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

I do not know why this seems to be getting worse. Im sitting up again with a lot of pain. It may be diet, stress I don,t know but the extra pantoprazole isn,t working. Im now thinking it must be bile reflux and now thinking of phoning the doctors. Im wondering if I should take 3 pantoprazoles or change to another PPI. That Nexium, does anyone know what it is called in the UK? Does that seem to be the best one? I went to church today and the Pastor said I had to believe that I was already healed because of what Christ did on the cross. It doesn,t feel that way. I was prayed for at a healing rooms too, nothing happened. Im so fed up of being in agony and losing sleep. Im miserable as it should be going now. Maybe I should see another specialist? I just hope this is going to go,sooner or later. I may have to put off going to see in laws next month as I can,t cope with this. Just venting on it.

Esomeprazole(nexium) Should be the same in the Uk I think. You may have to switch your meds around til one works. Also I have found that the more I get upset about my illness, the more likely i will have more pain. Yes, at church they are praying for me and my husband comes home and says I'm healed and I just look up in pain and think " easy for you to say" But I am trying relaxation techniques. Hope this helps some. Susu

Thanks susu well I hope yours doesn,t go on as long as mine. We must not give up praying. Ive been prayed for at healing rooms where they lay hands on you, also by Grace prayer community online. I could try Ranitidine again but I didn,t get on with it before. Some people don,t even realise what gastritis is and they just tell me they are not sure what I have got. I had never heard of it until I got it either.

my ranitidine stopped working, my gp has now got me on omeprazole at night & since then ive had no problems over night, he suggested i took the ranitidine on a morning as i could supplement this with gaviscon & bisodols have a word with your doc it could be time for a change of meds

Praying isn't going to just magically make the Gastritis go away. When you pray, you musn't doubt...and sometimes it is just God's plan that this is happening to us. Everything happens for a reason and everything that happens is just to make us stronger, even thought it doesn't seem like it. But maybe along with praying for healing, maybe we should pray for the strength to HANDLE and accept that the gastritis is there. Some people don't get the hope that their disease may heal...
