Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Take heart, it happens.. to a lot of people, all the time.
But you are not back to Square one, since you probably know what you can and cannot eat by now.
I guess it is like that with life sometimes, 3 steps forward and 2 steps back.
I have been feeling super hungry and nausea this week - despite all the rules that I dutifully follow- which is for a year (Nexium, safe food, eating on time, no alcohol, spicy food, coffee, mlik, tea, soda, any sugared drinks and having a lifestyle of a pre-schooler - ie no party, social gathering, early bedtime etc etc).
There are days that I feel that I can conquer the world (well, not exactly) and there are days when I wonder where is my life heading?
But today, just as I am feeling nausea and bad about my life, I walked past a blind woman, who is waiting patiently on the side of the road, and singing softly to herself.
and I wonder, who is happier now? Me or her? and who should be happier? Me or her?
I hope I don't sound preachy here. I suffered too and it is this "never ending", 24/7 torment ( 95% mental for me, 5% physical) that gets pp in this group down. But perhaps a little perspective might make me (and others reading this) happier despite the struggles, the pain, the conditions...
Bless you all!
I too didn't think it would be an ongoing complaint possibly for always, I thought too last time around how great it's on it's way out and I will be over it at last.......wrong!!! But my severely disabled cousin says, we take what is thrown at us, pick ourselves up and get on with, it, nothing phases her and she never complains with such a hard life, so I have taken some lessons there.
If i were you i would only eat rice for 1-2 weeks and see if it gets better and then add one food after another and see how that works.
I think that the sphincter of my stomach opening is highly inflamed and maybe its a bit swollen?? but I had a physical exam yesterday at the GP and he thought it all felt normal, next week I see the Gastro specialist, its the first visit in 18 months......sigh!!!!! I thought that I would never need to go there again once I healed last tome around.......silly me!!!!
I need to try to get organised with hopefully feeling a little better as I shall be traveling again soon, as I said I refuse for Gastritis to rule my life, it can hit me and it can whip me but I will not be overtaken by it, I just hope that my determination wins through???
I never thought about this before. But it probably does wear us out. I know I'm tired and half dizzy all the time. Thanks for the idea.
This is what I get for trying bacon, lol.
God, I am so miserable with this.
you said you still travel, how do you do that, my dr wants me to eat 6 small meals a day, I always traveled to Florida, now with this disease, I don't feel comfortable leaving to far. It's almost like a fear of not being in control. That's my main goal to restore my health,,so I can travel again to see my grandchild.
I've been going to a Nathropath and accupucture cause the medical community has done nothing to heal my gastritis but give me more pills. I also have started PenZIn GI and I feel it's helped in only one week. I also have gastroparesis which I'm taking meds for.stomach muscles not moving the food out to the small intestines.
- Rosebrook as too travelling. I pack my snacks and away I go. Having said that I remember how hard it was in the early and very dark days. I travelled yesterday and I took an egg, bread roll, some fruit, crisps and chocolate. I didn't use it all but peace of mind having it.
Just know you all are not alone and always have faith and pray for yourself and your brother and sisters who are going through it as well. I pray each of you will be feeling better very soon.
