Most definitely. It seems to be my final symptom and it is not going away. It messes with my head more than anything. I generally feel ok, and that pinch in my left side doesn't hurt, but serves as a constant reminder that I still have gastritis, however minor

I am new to this forum and I have the side stitch/jabbing on the left. It seems that when the gastritis is the angriest, it affects my back. I had begun to think it was like a fibromyalgia effect until I began to read replies here. Is there some reason this occurs? I am still getting used to the idea I have this condition and have a lot to learn. BTW, I have picked up a lot of useful information here. Thank you.

I've read that you get that pinch feeling because the stomach is inflamed

but i just had an endoscopy which showed no inflammation, but the pinch lingers and it's really been messing with my mind.

i am now wondering whether it's some sort of nerve issue left over from the inflammation. i recall one person on here who said he healed and said that the pinch took forever to go away. I think he described it as a phantom pinch.

My endoscopy on 1/19 showed essentially no damage. I was surprised since I have R/A and for years took an anacin at 6 AM on an empty stomach so I could get out of bed in the morning.. H. pylori not back yet. Gastric emptying test on 1/27 was also normal. The emptying test was an ordeal. Had nausea, headache, and occasional chills the entire 4 hours. Could hardly wait until husband picked me up and I could take a zofran to get home. From Wed through yesterday, nausea non-stop and finally today could eat a bit more.

Frustrating to be classically symptomatic for what the g/i consult said from the outset was either gastroparesis (ruled out by test last week) or gastritis yet the endoscopy showed very little inflammation. Is this typical?

I could never have imagined how life changing this is. Started with me before Thanksgiving. Two trips to ER and multiple trips to PA-C who is sympathetic but referred me to a PA-C in the g/i department. Had to throw myself at their mercy on Jan. 11 to move up my Jan. 22 appointment as I didn't think I could survive until then. It is very difficult to get a g/i consult except mine was arranged through Jan. 1 visit to ER.

I am very very sympathetic to everyone who has to manage this condition.

My initial endo did also show "very mild" inflammation, yet I was so sick, so I know how you feel

Given I have functional dyspepsia as well, this was one of the major tell tale signs of my gastritis. It really isn't painful but you do notice it and it only probably can be described as a stomach ache/side stitch.

Haven't had it in about 2 months. Think as your gastritis heals, it will go away. Like someone said, it does seem a little mental. I have noticed that when I don't think about it, I notice it doesnt appear. But this obviously could be confounded by actually healing isntead.
