I've been feeling sick since early February and it took my GP 3 months before he referred me to a GI for an endoscopy. I had my follow-up with her today and she assured me that everything looked good. She said I am a healthy 23 year-old and I shouldn't be restricting my diet at all other than eating small meals throughout the day. She showed me the pictures she took and told me that I was "fine", there were no ulcers, etc., but she completely breezed by the fact that the biopsy results showed mild chronic inflammation. Aside from feeling like she was attempting to rush through my appointment and shoo me out of her office, she explained very little to me and advised me that I don't need any other tests done because I am healthy and if I feel sick just to take a Gravol. I had to ask for a prescription for the Tecta I have been taking as advised by my GP for the last 4 months because I don't want to drop it cold turkey when my last refill runs out in a week or so. She did not mention tapering off my PPI, taking OTC medications, diet (other than eating small amounts), and she gave almost no attention to the fact that I have mild chronic inflammation of my stomach and what is causing it. It basically just felt like an appointment for her to tell me to deal with it and come back in 3 months. It was like no matter what question I asked, she just told me that I am fine and to eat whatever I want. Should I go back to my GP and ask for a referral to a new specialist? This doctor just does not seem compassionate and she doesn't seem to be able to give any real advice
