Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Now after about a year, I am feeling a lot better and stronger and the symptoms have stayed away. I finally got to play I few matches of volleyball but I could feel the acid jumping up and down my throat. Seems like the general trend is that you are healing but the road is bumpy with lots of up and downs but I think in the end you will go back to normal.
Have you tried supplementing with ProBiotics? I think they helped me a lot by helping to re-establish the good bacteria in your good. Also I ate a lot of Kefir and some other fermented foods like sauerkraut.
No, I have not tried any supplements. I'm a little bit skeptical if they actually do anything since I improved a lot without them. I might give them a try one day. Saurkraut sounds acidic though, doesn't it? I'm afraid of bad reactions to both, are they really crucial for healing?
I have introduced a lot of foods and seasonings back into my diet.. I can do oregano, paprika, tumeric, vinegar. I have eaten salads with no tomatoes ( I remember having a hard time with lettuce). Still NO COFFEE and no OJ. I pretty much avoid foods that gave me heartburn before the gastritis even hit.
Black Pepper is the DEVIL for me.....a big NO NO!!
Out of frustration, I went for a quick fix and tried CBD oil. I think it was too soon and should have waited longer, since my stomach can't handle even a drop of oil at the moment. Nothing big, just a slight irritation (which went away) but which I want to avoid since every irritation, I have found, is a step back. Before the flare up, I could eat fried eggs with some olive oil with no problem ... Will try again in a month. I have a feeling that it will sooth the stomach nerves and might promote faster healing.
@supabelly: You can eat salads! that is fantastic. I can't even eat super cooked vegetables at the moment after 5 months, so depressing. I'm tired of carbohydrates but what can I do? my only source of good things is carrot juice and at peak times apple juice. Damn this illness.
