Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Zantac tolerance develops quickly, and jumping around with the dosages isn't doing that factor any favors.
It has to be a steady, stable amount.
The standard protocol doctors used is Zantac 150 taken twice during 24hr period (they say at the AM and at the PM, I prefer exact 12-hour timer).
PepZin GI, in my opinion, should be taken on empty stomach when you wake up, and right before you go to bed, and also twice more in-between meals during the day, but not immediately before or after them.
I try to not take PepZin GI within an hour after taking Zantac. I do take it sometimes 30min before taking Zantac.
Note: Zantac is available as generic Ranitidine 150 on Amazon for very cheap as Kirkland (CostCo) brand. If you insist on staying with Zantac 75, it's also available pretty cheap as Equate brand.
