Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

I'm new to the forum. It's so easy to feel alone with this and like all of you i don't want to be. I developed Chronic Atrophic Gastritis about 5 years ago and like many others i have a variant of concurrent issues such as IC(Interstitial Cystitis), fibromyalgia, colitis, chronic constipation,hypoglycemia. My body fights me against the very things it needs. I suppose this is the nature of the beast in having Autoimmune disorders. The Gastritis i have gives me burning nuclear fallout whenever i eat something remotely fatty(even tiny amounts of healthy fats like avocado oils, olive oil, nut or seed butters,etc.). The raw muscular burn shoots all way up to head. I'm underweight and have been told to go low carb because of galloping glucose levels. Am sensitive to many meds. PPI's don't seem to help much. Certain much needed vitamins i have trouble with(hurt the bladder). Sort of caught between a rock and a hard place.
Geesh! I've always tried to be proactive and practice deep breathing when able. I am learning alot about nutrition though. Please feel free to reach out. You never know what little bit can help out alot, although i don't seem to have much to show for it right now.
You seem to be doing the best you can with the info. that you've been given from your existing Dr.'s.
For the past 7 years i've been seeing a Functional/Integrative Physician. Often they're conventionally trained but think holistically "outside of the box." They will address the issues nutritionally first and prescribe testing that a lot of doctors wouldn't think of. The trade off is that you will pay more out-of-pocket for them, but they are all there for you when in the exam room and will spend more time with you. Just something for you to consider trying. My Functional Dr. has her work cut out with me but i consider her a life line when many other doctors fail.
