When I first came down with all my problems I had nausea every day as well. I take Zantac every day and I don't get nausea anymore. Sometimes it just takes a little time for our bodies to adjust.

There is a medicine called Dom peridone or motilium which is supposed to help with nausea . Not sure if its available in us but I heard its available in Canada. Hope this helps.

Also, there are many other ppi available if you are not happy with Zantac you could try others.

I have just read your other post, the most important thing with gastritis is that you can't over eat and don't expect to be cured in a day or a week. The inside of your stomach is raw and inflamed think a grazed knee where all the skin has come off and it stings when anything touches it. This is your stomach. eat foods easy to digest, lay off chewy meat and think chicken or fish. Keep taking ppi for at least a month and evaluate . Of not carry on for another month. Slowly introduce back foods to your diet. You should see some improvement. You should be eating things like toast, bananas, crackers no wheat, porridge , no dairy, try soya milk. Coconut water. Diet is the key to healing, it cannot be rushed .

Anita Mo, I actually am in Canada. My GI has given me something for the nuasea but I don't find it lasts too long. Today I started tecta, one of the PPIs, as I have a prescription for it (to take with arthritis meds) so will see if that helps.
I agree that I overate on the weekend and that put me right back where I started. I have since been eating really carefully. My problem though is I am going away on the weekend and will be only eating in restaurants for 4 days straight....and it's hard to get healthy options (plus I want to enjoy a nice meal). So it's putting a bit of a downer / worry on my trip.

Steve, am sorry PPIs havent worked for you. What kind of side effects did you get?

What arthritis meds are you taking? My dad got a severe bleeding ulcer from his prescription arthritis meds. Check the side effects of whatever you are taking because that may be causing your nausea and pain. My dad had to stop taking them after he started throwing up blood and ended up hospitalized.

My co-worker is going through a similar thing. She has black stools from a bleeding ulcer that she got from taking Ibuprofen every day for stiff joints:( It's terrible because most of the meds that ease pain can injure your stomach.

I truly wish they made ibuprofen pain patches the way they do the narcotic ones. That way people could get relief without hurting their stomachs.

Silkakc, I was taking celebrex, 1/day, but stopped when these issues started 2 months ago. I did get the ok to try again since I stopped and still have no improvement, but would take with a PPI to coat the stomach. Having said that, I have yet to try celebrex...and will only do so if I get a full blown flare up with shooting pain down my leg.
