Protonix Side Effects Question

Been taking Protonix 40mg for the last 10 days. 3 days ago my throat starting getting tight giving me a globus sensation. I've had some chest pains and stomach pains as well over the last few days and chronic dry mouth and hoarseness.

Are these side effects of the Protonix? Anyone experience this as well with ppi's? I don't have acid reflux or heartburn.

I was taking ranitidine 150mg x 2 daily before this and wasn't getting these symptoms.

Thinking about going back to the ranitidine tomorrow.

Yeah that is part of the reflux symptoms... I had that globus/hoarseness too for a couple of weeks and as the medicine keeps working it will go away....sometimes my voice sounded very strange to me because of the hoarseness. Try to sleep propped up to keep any acid from from crawling up your esophagus.

I have the chest pain and dry mouth; I also stop taking the Protonix because in my case it seem that instead of getting better it was the opposite, right now doing the natural way following a alkaline diet and taking priobiotics

Well I started getting dizzy last night and some joint irritation.

I think the protonix is just too strong for me and lowering my acid too much. It's giving me reflux and pains.

Took ranitidine this morning and felt more improved than taking the protonix.

Need to call the doctor I guess.
