Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Just asking for good thoughts and prayers for my procedure tomorrow. I am having my endoscopy and colonoscopy tomorrow to see if its gastritis still or something to do with an allergic reaction to a food item. Very nervous and scared.

Still showing gastirtis. They biopsy the stomach and esophagus for potential food allergy investigation. The food allergy could be the underlying problem causing the gastirtis. They note usually when the underlying problem is identified and fixed then gastritis usually goes away. They noted something about mucosa on the discharge papers but not sure what that means. My colonoscopy showed no polyps but I do have a hemorrhoid which explains the blood on my stool and toilet paper. But I take this as good news and a big relief!! I am waiting for biopsy results and will make a follow up appointment in two-weeks and hoping a trip to an allergist will get this gastritis cured.

Hope you feel better and they get to the bottom of it. Was it as bad as you envisioned it?

Nah, it was not bad at all. I love the drug the use to put you to sleep. Just now waiting to hear back. I am a bit confused on what is the best medicine regimen. Seems like I do good with Omoprezole.

I am relived to know that the blood in my BM was from a hemorroid like I was suspecting.
