Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Pepzin GL...Times to take...

I got my Pepcin GL over the weekend. I am currently taking Omeprazole twice a day. I have been taking the Omeprazole 30 minutes prior to eatting breakfast and then 30 minutes prior to eatting dinner. I was going to start off taking the Pepzin GL twice a day like the bottle says. I was curious on what is the ideal time to take the Pepzin GL when on Omeprazole like I am. How far apart should you stagger taking Pepzin GL and Omeprazole. I assume you do not take them at the same exact time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your Omeprazole timing sounds spot on. I usually avoid taking anything in the lead up to or around the time of the PPI. So I usually take PepzinGI around 2 hours after breakfast, and before going to bed. I find before bed makes the biggest difference to how I feel the next day.

Good stuf Andy. I will stick to your schedule suggestions. I will make the Omeprazole in the morning the first thing I take before breakfast and then about 90 minutes or so I will do my Pepzin GL....wait about 90 minutes to 2 hours and eat lunch.....then take my Omeprazole 30 minutes before dinner and then make the Pepzin GL the last thing I take before bed.

Do you do a Probiotic or Vitamin? If so, when do you take that?

ive been taking my pepzin gi straight after breakfast and dinner is this wrong

It's not wrong. I just feel its more effective when taken 4 times a day... when you wake up, before bed, and 2 more times spread between meals.

i only take 2 because thats what it states on bottle so is it ok to up the dose.
