Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
If you have trouble try taking it before a meal, that way it shouldn't get a chance to reflux into your esophagus.
Otherwise it might just not suit you, everyone is individual in what they can and can't tolerate.
PepZin seems to kind of explode into powder on the inside, so, theoretically, it could've caught something else on its way up and stuck it to your esophagus.
I've only had this effect with slippery elm - persistent irritation of esophagus. Required lots and lots of water and wouldn't immediately go away, like it burped up somehow and got stuck there.
You could try taking PepZin in the middle of a meal and seeing what happens.
There are other manufacturers of the supplement, such as Source Naturals and Swanson, though Dr's Best has been working better for me (maybe it's psychosomatic).
Source Naturals is a reputable brand:

PepZin GI is the ideal thing to take for people who damaged their stomach through NSAIDS.
The other thing that's supposed to heal your stomach is DGL and also mastic gum. Chios is a good brand of mastic gum, though results in general are less universal, and given your thinned lining I'd consult with your doctor first.
