Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I used it for about 1 week and it did not make me any better. I suspect that it might even contributed to my nausea.
Of course, by that point I already followed a lot of other regimens, proper foods and timings and was/am using an H2 blocker.
PepZin GI has clinical studies done on it, look it up. If you allow your stomach to heal, PepZin GI can speed it up threefold.
However, it is not going to do the rest of the job for you. Discipline is required. Also, Gastromend HP and Ulcetrol are PepZin-based supplements which work better than PepZin GI by itself.
Gastromend especially.
Do you still take Gastromend after your healed or do you go back to Penzing.
I just received my Gastromend, the label says it has Vit C, I had to stop taking it it was to acidic. Did it bother you in Gastromend?
I opened the capsule and took a smell, boy does it smell, nothing like Penzing, and it says to take between meals.
I do feel better with taking Penzing, and it's only been 2 weeks.
I ate a beef stew yesterday without the spices and I had no problem, first time in 4 months, I had some beef.
Gastromend was a HUGE help in earlier stages where I felt stuck with PepZin GI alone and couldn't move past a certain level of healing. It pushed me up.
While Vitamin C irritates my stomach and I avoid it standalone, as part of Gastromend it did not irritate the stomach. Or maybe the healing aspect of other components just overcame its damage.
Right now I use neither Gastromend nor Ulcetrol, because
a) They both contain mastic gum which REALLY increases constipation effect I get from Pepcid(formerly Zantac). I'm in the lucky 1-2% who gets that stupid side-effect from H2 blockers. Sigh.
b) I'm at a level where PepZin GI alone is enough to maintain it, unless I screw up again by eating Twix Icecream or some crap like that ;)
In one of your. Other post you mentioned that Chabani yogart is full of acids and yolplait is better, did you find some research on it, I use Chabani because it has the highest amount of protein compared to the others.
As for Chobani vs. Yoplait, it's my personal experience, not research. Chobani is abrasive to my stomach and also has a "sharper", more acidic taste, while Yoplait is not.
I was noticing the difference with Gastromend after about a week.
The instructions on the box says 10 a day for Chlorella, but 2 a day is good. I bought source Naturals.
Thanks for the valuable info.
My main goal is to be pain free and rebuild my strength and be able to eat a normal diet, nothing stupid.
My pathology from my endo did show mucosa lining damage from taking Advil. When I was reading about Gastromend that was one of the things it said it does heal the lining in the stomach. Hope it works on me. BTY, cottage cheese does work for those after acid pain.
Just your opinion.
There is no solution to large capsule size. Maybe you can cut Gastromend in half, but the contents look powder-y...
Ulcetrol capsules are smaller, you may want to try that instead.
If you take 4 PepZin GI and 4 Gastromend per day, you'll end up with 48mg zinc, according to my calculations.
If you take other zinc supplements, however, you should be mindful of additional zinc.
