Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
So I am gathering that pain in the actual stomach area just below the ribs where the ribs meet, or slightly below...is not IBS. Is that correct?
IBS is usually felt more in the lower digestive..but, if you are getting some irritation below and it's sort of backing up into your stomach it could be the cause....but it could also be many other things...
Gallbladder, GERD, food intolerances, ulcer, gastritis, gas, hiatal hernia...and more...
sorry there is no set answer with our digestive...they are complicated (and quite annoying at times)
