Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I had it with gastritis, since birth when it is related to my heart condition and also more recently after an something feel against my ribcage, causing inflammation which has refused to heal the past two years. If it continues, consider discussing it with the doctor to have it checked- just in case it is inflammation between the ribs or something else that can be time-sensitive in regards to rest and healing.
(P.S. Warm baths, pillows tucked around the ribcage, propped pillows and no tight clothing around the ribcage all are things I have found that help).
Abdominal adhesions could also give this sort of pain.
Definitely agree with warmth being soothing & avoiding tight clothing, waistbands & underwired bras etc.
My surgery was because of a blockage due to adhesions. So I don't doubt that it could be happening again. But, how do they find those? I was told they didn't show up on scans etc.
Multiple Sclerosis has something called the "hug" which is a constricting around the ribs and back. It can happen in other places too, but mainly around the ribs. It's a nerve miss fire. But this feels different. I am down to 87 lbs and holding. I am only 4 ft 9 in so am small anyway. But shouldn't be this small!
This gastritis stuff is a kick... especially with IBS too!
Yes, I do get that. It has been happening all my life though, so I don't really think about it too much. My heart is healthy- I see the cardio once a year and more if needed. In fact EVERY doctor I see also checks my heart. It is how it goes, but better safe I guess.
And yes, the gastritis stuff really is a kick.
