Hi Dana, my stomach pain is always more or less in the same place (left side under breast bone) and it never goes away, only the intensity changes. Sometimes I get also other related pains from cramps for instance and then all my abdomen hurts but those pains pass.
I did notice that stress is hugely related with the intensity of the pain. So trying to be relaxed is pretty important. But it is not only when getting angry. Stress comes in many different forms, you can have it even when you are really happy or excited.
Try maybe to find things to do or think about that calm you down no matter the state. I know it is very hard sometimes, especially if you have a stress full job and kids.

Dana, I had problems with ulcer/gastric pain coming and going and never quite healing beyond a certain plateau, until I started taking Pepzin GI (zinc carnosine).

I used to avoid playing online violent videogames when my gastritis was raging, because I would get stressed and it would bring the pain back. Now it's no longer a concern. The stomach behaves more like of a "normal" person, and that's because of Pepzin GI.

sadly anger and stress are horrible triggers for this illness. My gastritis pain when I get it is like a hot knife being twisted inside my gut. Mercifully I only get this pain if a new ingredient reacts badly.

my doc told me gastritis goes but the damage done by the immflamation means your never free of it. people get better fall back into their old ways thinking its gone then wonder why after months its back, also anger produces more acid so the angrier you get the worse the acid gets hence pain. ive been pain free for almost a year but every now & then i get the odd cramp or bad indegestion nowhere near as bad as when i first started the 1 thing that has stayed with me though is the anxiety im now on anti-depressants for this

I have to agree with Yorkyboy, I picked up this gastritis in 2012. I am healed as such , but do find that I get twitches and reminders that this thing doesnt leave you completely. I am still not eating everything that I used too ; and I wont either. I am fine and comfy the way I handle my diet now. Anger and anxiety do make my stomach go a bit wobbly and funny. So I keep myself so busy that my mind cant keep up and start with its nonsense :). Be patient with yourself though

Even after I was over gastritis, it took a long time to heal. Try to remember that your body has been through a major trauma. For however long it took to get better, it is going to take twice as long to feel well. Take it slow but don't let go of hope. One step at a time, one day at a time.

I agree with Raven. I would say I'm just about healed but know that I must manage it for life. I have gained back all the foods I wanted to and some remain on the to do list for another time.It is an illness that is sent to try our patience, will power and strength.
If we all had none at the start of this we will have them all in buckets by now.
