Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I am not a doctor but I would say just from what you wrote that you are very fructose intolerant.....
I know I can't have even a spec of fruit sugar, or I am in gastritis H*ll
Just a thought...
try searching for this on google, etc.
fodmap diet for gastritis
I think you are so brave to be dealing with cancer and gastritis at the same time, I can't fathom doing both. Wishing you peace and healing.
I am so sorry that you too are in gastritis h*ll- I absolutely feel for you and am sending you so much strength and positive energy. Would you mind me asking- are you able to eat any fruit other than banana without a terrible reaction? Other than diet, is there something else you do to help with your gastritis?
Much strength,
Karolina
I am taking an herbal supplement made from the bark of the brazilian pepper tree. I don't know what you might find similar in Greece, however. I took ppi meds for far too many years and I think it made me prone to gastritis.
For me it is all about the food. If I do not eat any grains at all, no lactose and no fruit sugar I stay ok. At first when it was very bad and while I was really sick with it for over 2 yrs I tried all the things you see, oatmeal, rice, etc. I just got worse.
My helpers are the herbal supplement, marshmallow root tea (I take capsules but mostly I make the tea and drink it all day, it is good cold and brews in the refrigerator) and I take slippery elm capsules sometimes at night. I stay away from caffeine, black or green tea, coffee and only have a bit of chocolate from time to time.
It's a terribly boring diet but it's worth it to not hurt!.
One of the other things that helps a lot is to all a lot of oils to my diet. I use EVOO for salads, butter in my eggs, and put a spoon of coconut oil in my hot herbal tea. My naturopath told me it would help coat my stomach and let it heal.
Some folks like aloe, I found it made me burn worse.
It's really trial and error, keeping a list and seeing what works...
wish I had a magic answer for you....
sorry it took me time to get back to you - I have CFS as well and am not on here every day.
Wishing you well, and peace
Nina
I have tried both, and Zofran works really well for me!
Big hugs to you!
I am checking out the FODMAP diet and am certainly looking into Zofran and Reglan. Has anyone else up here had experiences with these drugs? Any thoughts and feedback would be absolutely invaluable! I hope you both are feeling strong and healthy and are winning this battle! Keep fighting and know that I am sending you both strength and positive energy!! Thank you both again for taking the time to write back!
To better health!!
