Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
So last week I got prescribed a generic version of Protonix, day five and not seeing any relief, in fact i'm feeling much worse. I was previously on a two week sample of Dexilant which was working wonders for me. My doc tried to get me a prescription of it but my insurance wouldn't cover, so she then tried to get me Nexium, and that was a no go. So then this was her third choice. just wondering do I fight my insurance on this? Or should I just try another PPI? already tried omeprazole, didn't do a thing. I'm also sticking to a bland diet faithfully. I am a disabled woman, and honestly this whole gastritis/gerd has made me feel more disabled then I've ever felt in my life. Thank you for your time.

How is everything? did you every find the right PPI or has the insurance company come through for you. I hope so!

Glad to hear there seems to be progress! I also take vitamin D and Magnesium.
Patience is really something we have to have through all of this, right!
It's good that your new PPI's seem to be helping.
It's a lot of hard work but we can do this!
