Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
If you're still experiencing burning it might be worth removing the following until your stomach is more stable:
Apples
Strawberries
Raisins
Prunes
These are all acidic (have a low pH) & can irritate delicate tissue. Melon & dates can be a safer choice from a low-acid perspective.
Sometimes other things can aggravate for other reasons eg, insoluble fibre or fat content. Things like the bread, banana, avocado, coconut oil & almonds might fall into this category.
Sometimes things can just be aggravating & quirky for no apparent reason & it is trial & error for each individual & depends how far along they are in the healing process.
Many people struggle with raw or salad items like lettuce, but you could try it.
I think overall your menu would be good & well-balanced for someone who is far along in the healing process, but for someone experiencing burning it might be worth experimenting & trying dropping a few of the items mentioned above - particularly the acidic fruits.
Because I am trying to balance IBS-C with healing gastritis I somewhat follow the low-acid principles of the "Dropping Acid" diet combined with many principles from FODMAP diet & "Fast Tract Diet".
What rice are you eating? White Jasmine Rice is usually best option for both gastritis & IBS-C.
