Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
One thing I'd add - *always* check with your gastro doctor before taking any other medicines or dietary supplements. These can all have side effects which can burn you.
For a good 14 months, I did the mistakes of stopping PPIs, switching medicines, and then I would curse for weeks because the acid would come back and scorch my stomach and mouth.
Another word of advice extreme acid causes blisters in the mouth, usually on the tongue though, sometimes side of mouth if you have that, then your acid reducer has not kicked in fully.
