Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I cut out milk and ice cream early on as well as yogurt. Tiniest amount of ice cream (as in one teaspoon) would give me pain. Plain yogurt is my WORST trigger, worse than soda, I am confident to say. I eat a little bit of part-skim mozzarella cheese every day and do OK with it. I agree, once healed, we should be able to tolerate them again.
