Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

I use Slippery Elm to coat my stomach. It works excellent and is an herb so you can take it as often as you like ( just not within 1 hour of any meds). If you want to do the Rx route, Carafate works the same way. It coats your stomach and halts the pain.
Since yours was caused by Hpylori, yours will go away when the lining has healed itself I bet. You don't take pain meds, do you? All the over the counter and prescription pain meds and Nsaids are hard on your stomach. Try to avoid Vitamin C and peppermint too- they have caused me ulcers in the past.
I order the Slippery Elm from Our4corners.net online. I buy it by the pound and mix about 1/4 cup of boiling water with 2 Tbsp of the powder. I cover it and keep it in the fridge. I swallow a heaping Tbs of the paste a couple times a day and always before bed.
Other folks here have gotten relief with aloe vera gel and silica gel too, and mastic gum. All those herbs coat your stomach too and let the sore spots try to heal themselves.
Good luck and I hope you find something to help it to heal!
